ALDS & NLDS Breakdown

Here we are; the playoff picture is set. By now you've listened to the last #TurtleTakes with @TSFinky and myself. You probably noticed we got off track and didn't cover everything you wanted to know. Well here is some of that info.

The Wild Card games are over and Fink did an outstanding job going 3-1 on his analysis. I know I followed and won a couple bucks. #LetsGO

Now it’s time to look at the Divisional Series and see where we can get #InTheMoney

In the American League, we have the Houston Astros hosting the Chicago White Sox. The Astros are the favorite to win this series. Looking at the 2021 season, these 2 faced off 7 times with Houston winning 5 of them. The offensive Power Rankings have Houston on top, while the pitching rankings have Chicago with the advantage. I think these 2 teams have the ability to score a lot of runs which plays to Houston having the advantage. However, my money is on Chicago. Chicago finished the season 7-3 while Houston went 4-6. Also, Chicago has shown they can step up in big games and in late innings. Lines as of this morning have HOU (-125) and CHW (+105). These are the closest of any teams in this round, so not even Vegas is sure about Houston being successful.

Next, we have the Tampa Bay Rays hosting the Boston Red Sox. The Rays are the favorite to win this series. Looking at the 2021 season, these 2 faced off 19 times with Tampa Bay winning 11 of them. The offensive Power Rankings have Boston on top, while the pitching rankings have Tampa Bay with the advantage. I don’t really see this being a high scoring series which plays to Tampa Bay having the advantage. I do believe guys like Schwarber, Verdugo, and Bogaerts will have success offensively, but my money is on TB. TB finished the season 7-3 while Boston went 5-5. Also, TB has shown they know how to win by winning 100 games. Lines as of this morning have TB (-190) and BOS (+165).

In the American League Championship Series, I have Tampa Bay hosting Chicago.

In the National League, we have the Milwaukee Brewers hosting the Atlanta Braves. The Brewers are the favorite to win this series. Looking at the 2021 season, these 2 faced off 6 times with both teams winning 3 games. The offensive Power Rankings have Atlanta on top, while the pitching rankings have Milwaukee with the advantage. I see this being an average scoring series which plays to Atlanta having the advantage. Guys like Freeman, Albies, and Austin Riley will have to maintain the offensive success they’ve had all season, and this is where the series will be determined. Atlanta finished the season 8-2 while Milwaukee went 4-6. Lines as of this morning have MIL (-145) and ATL (+125). This is a good place to win some money on the Atlanta upset.

On the West Coast, we have the San Francisco Giants hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers are the favorite to win this series. Looking at the 2021 season, these 2 faced off 19 times with the Giants winning 10 games. The offensive Power Rankings have SF on top, while the pitching rankings have LA with the advantage. I see this being a higher scoring series which plays to SF having the advantage. Nobody played the Dodgers tougher than the Giants did all season. In addition to winning the regular season series, SF outscored LA 78-72. SF finished the season 8-2 while LA went 9-1. Lines as of this morning have LAD (-155) and SF (+135). This also is a good place to win some money on the SF upset.

In the National League Championship Series, I have SF hosting Atlanta.
