Happy Friday to all our racing fans out there! No, we are not crazy, nor drunk . . . yet, you read that title correctly. That's right, Belmont Park is running at Aqueduct, and the New York Racing Association (NYRA) has also come up with a fun name for it. Here's a little rundown behind this name . . .
The ‘Belmont at the Big A’ meet was conducted by the New York Racing Association during September-October 2022 while Belmont Park underwent construction. The meet was held at Aqueduct, with dirt and turf races conducted and all of the usual stakes races held during the fall at Belmont shifted to the Queens, N.Y., track, including several Breeders’ Cup preps.
Today's card has 9 races with the featured race coming in Race 8 the $120K Glen Cove Stakes. This 6-furlong race is for fillie three-year-olds and will be run over the outer turf. Don't blink or you will miss this sprint race. The rest of the card is packed with lotsa runners and will keep you busy all day while you avoid work and start your weekend early. The weather looks to be cooperating as we will see highs in the mid-50s but some partly cloudy skies. Rain doesn't appear to be an issue today but you never know so keep an eye on those scratches and changes. The first post is 9:35 am pacific so don't be late!
