Belmont @ Saratoga 🏇🏾 // Thurs., June 6, 2024 🏇🏾

Happy Thursday &

80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landing

We are back in the saddle and we could not be happier to be doing it for the Belmont Stakes Festival from Saratoga! For the first time in history, the Belmont stakes will take place at this legendary racecourse. Today kicks off four days of ponies, cappin' races, and cashin' tickets. We will be bringing you our top plays and best bets all four days this weekend so you feel like you are there with the crowd! One big change here is the Belmont could see a bit faster run as we move away from "Big Sandy" the Belmont course. With so much action in store this weekend, let's not waste any more time!

Today's card has 10 races with four stakes races where the featured race comes in the tenth. This is the $250K G2T 16 furlong Belmont Gold Cup. Originally we had 14 runners for this race but with three scratches we will have 11 total entrantes for this very long route race. Even before we finish up the day we have lottsa runners to help you build those tickets up and maybe put some coin in your pocket for the bigger pools this weekend. As of the writing of this post the rain has moved back a bit and we may get lucky to see only cloudy skies today with high highs in the upper 70s. The track is fast and turf is firm, so we are hoping to see a great first day with limited scratches!

Need help pickin' winners? We've got you covered! Our #LundinLine - (Always Free) top pix and best bets are below in this post. We use them to help narrow the field while putting our tickets together. The first post will be here soon, so don't be late - It's time to get #InTheMoney! 💰🏇🏻💰🏇🏻💰🤑

Oh, and don't forget to follow us @_TurtleSports and subscribe to our site so you don't miss any of the action. You'll be glad you did! Let's Ride!

D-Day

The Battle of Normandy, executed under the codename Operation Overlord, became known as the beginning of the end of World War II. The Battle took place along a 50-mile stretch of beaches, including Utah and Omaha Beach. While many explanations exist for the name, many believe the word "Day" means nothing more than what it is written to and the countdown to the day and hour of the assault.

The U.S., Britain,  and Canada sent more than 160,000 Allied troops under the leadership of General Dwight Eisenhower. The troops manned more than 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircraft on the day of the initial landing, and it is considered one of the largest amphibious military assaults in history. An amphibious military operation requires naval ships to project ground and air power at a designated landing beach. Due to the sheer number of troops, ships, and aircraft involved, Operation Overlord required extensive planning. The Battle of Normandy liberated Northern France, but more importantly, began the liberation of millions across Europe.
