Happy Saturday! We made it to the weekend and more importantly, we made it to the Belmont Stakes. This is the third jewel of the triple crown but sadly we will not see the 14th horse to capture that title as Mage took leg one in the Kentucky Derby, but National Treasure showed he would have had a shot at the triple crown had he been able to compete at Churchill on that first Saturday in May and took down the field at the Preakness. There is a ton of racing ahead today so lets get to it!
Today's card has 13 races with 9, you read that right 9, of which are stakes, of course, all of these culminating with the Belmont Stakes. This race is the longest of the triple crown stakes so don't count that winning ticket too soon. The weather looks to be a mixed bag today as we will see highs in the mid-70s with partly cloudy skies, a chance of rain in the middle of the card, but the smoke seems to have cleared out.
