We here at Turtle Sports have waited for this day as the California State Fair has returned which means the thoroughbreds are back at Cal Expo!!! Finally some racing in our backyard!
As mentioned above stop 2 today is right here at home where we get to watch the ponies at Cal Expo for the second day of the short summer meet! We have 8 total races but the first race is a quarter horse race so no picks for that one. Our Lundin Line just doesn't fit the QH style but that does not mean you can't enjoy this quick sprint to kick off the day. Today's card does feature race 7 the Govenor's Cup Stakes which boasts a nice $75K prize pool. We probably won't all agree about how we feel about our Governor here in California but we can all agree it's going to be nice to route on one of our best bets today in a high profile race!!!
The weather is typical for this time of year in Sacramento as we will see highs in mid 100s with sunny skies and no wind in sight. The dirt track will be fast and we will be in the shade as we enjoy another fun filled, albeit hot, day at the State Fair!!!
