The final countdown to the Kentucky Derby is taking place as we look over this write-up. The post positions were drawn yesterday and now we have the morning lines set for Saturday. Before we get that far though we have to take a peek at the 9 race card Churchill is offering today. They have given us two stakes races to prime us up for the big weekend ahead. There is plenty of action to cash some tickets with lottsa runners today.
Running conditions look blustery with wind gusts in the upper 20 mph range but with a fast track, firm turf there's worry about the running surfaces. Temperatures are in the mid-60s will make for a great day of racing action. First post is at 9:45 AM Pacific.
