The final countdown to the Kentucky Derby is taking place as you look over this write-up. Yesterday was a great day of racing for Derby week. We have two more days to get some warm-up in before the huge weekend of racing kicks off with Oaks Day. Today's card has 10 races including two stakes races which means very competitive fields coming at you really quickly today. Race 8 is the $175K Isaac Murphy Overnight stakes and race 9 is the $225K Mamzelle Overnight Stakes so lottsa money up for grabs today. As we all know it's National Skilled Trades Day and while horse racing isn't a true skilled trade, it does take a lot of skill (even some luck) so we feel today might be a good day to cash some tickets!!!

Running conditions look blustery with wind gusts of upwards of 20 mph but with a fast track, and firm turf there's no worry about the running surfaces. Temperatures are in the mid-60s will make for a great day of racing action. First post is at 9:45 AM Pacific.
