🏇Happy Saturday & National Trail Mix Day!
We are staying out west for a huge card in sunny San Diego and Del Mar thorobred club! We have three win and you’re in Breeders Cup races today across 11 total races, with five of those being stakes races! First up in the fifth is the $300k Del Mar Handicap where the winner will be in the starting gate for the Longines Turf back here at Del Mar in November. This is an 11 furlong route on the turf coarse so don’t hold your breath as it may take them a bit to complete this one. Next up on the Breeders Cup challenge series is the ninth race the $150 Green Flash Handicap. This race will get one horse quickly into the starting gate in November in the Prevage Turf Sprint as this is a five furlong sprint on the turf for three year olds and up. The last Breeders cup race comes in the 10th and is the $1M Pacicif Coast Classic. The winner here will find themselves in the starting gate for the Longines Classic in November. This is a one mile route in the dirt coarse and while it won’t close out our day it will be the featured race with all eyes on this biggest race of the day.
The weather today is typical of San Diego with highs in the mid 70s and mostly sunny skies. We will see a fast track and firm turf as we enjoy another beautiful day at the races!
