Just like Laurel Park, we're in for an amazing day of action: 13 races, an avalanche of runners and six stakes, featuring Race 12, the $300K Grade II Rachel Alexandra Stakes and Race 13, the $400K Grade II Risen Star Stakes. The Rachel Alexandra Stakes will give the top four runners with Kentucky Oaks Points (50-20-10-5, respectively) while the Risen Star Stakes will award the top four runners with Kentucky Derby points, 50-20-10-5 respectively. Simply put - our Best Value Horse is a runner our very own @TSDaveW likes with morning line odds around 7-1. This will be a horse that should be competitive, and if it hits, you'll be glad you played it! Odd, of course, change throughout the day, however we're lookin' at Morning Line Odds when making these picks. Let's check it out!

Rather Be Lucky (our 1st pick in Race 2) by Into Mischief is in a great position to break her maiden in this race and the closing odds will probably reflect that. So with that in mind, we are picking Carnelian (#7) as today's BVH with 10-1 Morning Line odds. Carnelian, the daughter of First Samurai, earned a 67 Equibase Speed in her last race, a $45K Maiden Special Weight in November. as she finished 3rd - after almost breaking her maiden at Del Mar in her first race in October. For today’s race, Michael Stidham puts Michell Murrill back at the helm & keeps her on Lasix. Although Rather be Lucky will likely go off as the betting favorite, we like the 3 year old filly Carnelian (#7) with odds around 10-1 as today's Best Value Horse at Fair Grounds.
