Welcome to opening day of Fair Grounds' 150th season. Located in the heart of New Orleans, this grand track has seen races since 1838 and is America's third oldest racetrack. . Today's 9 race card features Race #7, the 150K Thanksgiving Classic 🦃 - & Race #8, the Joseph P. Peluso Memorial Stakes. Looks like we'll get the races in before some rain later in the afternoon but with fast & firm tracks & temps in the 70s, we should be in for a great afternoon for watchin' ponies & cashin' tickets 💵 (🤞🏻).
If you're fortunate to be at the track & looking to burn off some calories from that 2nd (or 12th) helping of stuffing, you'll be happy to know that, in under an hour, you can walk over to the Caesars Superdome to watch the Saints host the Bills in this year's Thanksgiving night NFL game. 🏈.
