Happy Wednesday & National Registered Nurses Day! 😷

We have an exciting weekend of racing as the Kentucky Derby trail moves into the critical stages, and we have two major events this weekend. To prepare, we’re focusing on the ponies from multiple tracks today. First, we head to the Bayou, as we are at Fairgrounds Race Course. Today’s card features eight races, but since there are no stakes races, don’t expect the huge payouts you might see later this weekend. There are plenty of horses looking for a win to earn some cash today. A few of the races in the middle of the card offer decent purses, so we could witness some great competition there.

I must admit I’m having a hard time writing today because my mind is on the cards for this weekend. The weather today looks decent, with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s and mostly cloudy skies. The track is fast, and the turf is firm. Stay tuned for our second post later today as we continue our warm-up.

For those interested, our last day at Colonial Downs was better for us overall. While our top picks returned a negative ROI, our second picks yielded a healthy 43% ROI. We did experience some scratches of bigger names, but American Promise made a strong statement by earning 50 points, likely securing a spot in the starting gate this May.
