It's Christmas Eve, so only a couple of tracks are running today. We thought why not give you some help, as our gift to you, on the card from Gulfstream Park! We know there is last minute shopping, gifts being wrapped, cookies being baked, and milk being poured. The big guy in the red suit will soon grace your home but not before you cash some tickets to recoup some of the money you shelled out this holiday season! If none of this makes sense to you because you don't celebrate Christmas, then we are just happy to hang out with you on the second to last Sunday of 2023. The year is winding down but Gulfstream won't let that stop them from another great card. We have 10 races across all three tracks with the featured race coming in the 6th, the $100K H Allen Jerkins Handicap. Jerkens is a hall of fame horse trainer who won the Eclipse award for outstanding trainer in 1973. This is actually the second stakes race with his name sake that takes place annually!!!
We have typical Florida winter weather today where it will be mild, somewhat rainy, and a bit unpredictable. We will see highs in the mid to upper 70s and it's gonna be humid for sure so make sure to bring an umbrella if you are at the track today. The turf course is finally back in operation so we hope the rain holds off to limit the scratches. The all weather track is always good but as of the writing of this post we have a fast track and firm turf to enjoy a great day of racing from Florida!
