In honor of National Play Outside Day (we assume it has something to do with playin' the ponies since they usually run outside), we head to the first of our two cards today that features both a KY Oaks and KY Derb prep race. Our first stop is in Hallandale Beach, FL at Gulfstream Park for a fantastic 14-race card with 9 stakes races. The KY Oaks Prep is the G2, 200K Davona S. in R9, with the KY Derby Prep coming in R14 with the 400K, G2 Fountain of Youth S. (first run in 1945). Each race will award points to the top five finishers of 50-25-15-10-5. The Davona S. will feature the 3 years old fillies running 1 mi. on GP's dirt track, while the Fountain of Youth will push the guys to 1 1/16 mi. on the same track.
