Well, folks, we are in the final stretch of the 2023-2024 Kentucky Derby & Kentucky Oaks Prep Race Season. For the Derby prep races, we're down to four. We've got 3 Win=&-In (pts. = 100-50-25-15-10) races on
Sat., April 6th,
Wood Memorial (G2) at Aqueduct
Blue Grass (G1) at Keeneland & the
Santa Anita Derby (G1) at Pocono Downs (just kidding🙃)
Then, on April 13th, the always intriguing Lexington (G3) with its 20 pts. for a lucky horse on the bubble looking to stamp its place in the gate at Churchill Downs on May 4th.
On the KY Oaks side, we wrap up the season with three Win-and-in races. On Saturday, we'll have the Gazelle at Aqueduct and the Santa Anita Oaks. But today is the first of the final three, with the 600K Central Bank Ashland S. (G1).
Will Just F Y I (Justify) prevail again over her gatemates Jody's Pride (American Pharaoh) and Candied (Candy Ride), as she did in the BC Juvenile Fillies back in November, or will the red-hot Impel (Quality Road) coming off two impressive wins, grab those 100 points? Oh, and let's not forget that, while Just F Y I and Candied haven't raced since the Juv. Filles, Jody's Pride notched a win in the Busher Stakes on March 2nd.
Well, that's why they run the races.
Of course, we'll have picks for all of Saturday's preps., but not just the preps. We will have picks & Best Bets for the full cards tomorrow at Aqueduct, Keeneland & Santa Anita. Buckle up for a fun weekend of racing! 🏇
