R1: Nyquist Stakes

[1] Highly Motivated


Klaravich Stables & Trainer Chad Brown saw their 2 yr. old colt win on his second time out (Sept. 27th at Belmont). In that race, Highly Motivated came in as the strong favorite. He raced just off the pace, showing patience before finding a seam past the 1/8 pole to pull ahead, beating Known Agenda by 1 3/4 lengths. Highly Motivated earned back-to-back Speed figures of 85 for his first two races which places him 2nd amongst today’s field of 9. Over the past year, Chad Brown with Jockey Javier Castellano are winning at 26% and in the money at 62%. Over the past 10 days, Castellano is winning @ 24%, ITM at 52% and has a +16% ROI. At this distance/surface, Brown’s horses are winning at 26% and ITM at 61%. (M/L 7/2)


 

R6: BC Juvenile Turf Sprint (GII)

[14] Golden Pal


With two 2nd place finishes to begin his career, Golden Pal picked up his first Win in the Skidmore Stakes on Aug. 21st at Saratoga. In that race, he came out of the gate with amazing speed, lightly driven throughout the race, he was eventually geared down as he went on to win by 3 1/2 over Fauci. Fauci went on to Place in his next race. Sky’s Not Falling who finished 3rd in the Skidmore also went on to place in his next race . The 4th place finisher in the Skidmore was Sunny Isle Beach who went on to win her next race on Oct. 20th. Golden Pal enters this race with an average Speed of 90 which place him 3rd in this field of 17. Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. who rode him in the Skidmore is back at the reigns. Ortiz over the last 30 days in winning at 19%. Trainer Wesley Ward with Ortiz are ITM at 60% and over the last year, Ward’s 2 yr. olds are winning at 29% and ITM at 62%. (M/L 8/5)


 

R8: BC Juvenile Fillies (GI)

Dayoutoftheoffice


Dayoutoftheoffice is undefeated in her 3 starts. Breaking her maiden on May 14th, she went on to win the Schuylerville Stakes in July and followed that win a Win at the Frizette Stakes on Oct. 20th at Belmont. The win at the Frizette earned Dayoutoftheoffice her highest Speed figure of 98 and she leads this field of 7 with and average Speed of 89. Junior Alvarado will take the reigns as he did in Dayoutoftheoffice’s previous 2 starts. In Stakes races this year, Trainer Timothy Hamm has his his horses winning at 22% and ITM at 56%. [7] Jackie's Warrior


Since Jackie’s Warrior’s first career victory on June 19th at Churchill Downs, Steven Asmussen’s colt has been busy, not to mention racking up Stakes wins. In Aug., the Saratoga Special, in Sept., the Unhappy Hopeful and on Oct. 10th, the Champagne over Reinvestment Risk (by 5 1/2 lengths) & Midnight Bourbon (by 8 3/4), both of whom join him in today’s running of the BC Juvenile. In the Champagne, Jackie’s Warrior matched his career high Speed figure of 102 & leads today’s field of 14 with an average figure of 97. Asmussen and Jockey Joel Rosario have teamed up 42 times with Rosario being at the reigns for Jackie’s Warrior’s last 3 Wins. Over the past year, they are winning at 24% and ITM at 52%. Asmussen’s 2 yr. olds over the past year are winning at 21%. (M/L 7/5)
