It's been three months since we visited the Racecourse at Los Alamitos Thoroughbred. It's Future Stars Day as the featured race comes in the finale with the Grade II $200K Los Alamitos Futurity. This race is 8.5 furlong over dirt and will award Kentucky Derby points as the prep seaon rolls one! We will see 10-5-3-2-1 points to the top 5 runners today and the winner will end up in the top 10 of the standings for a chance to run for the roses in May. The card today has 9 total races and while most races have a smaller field, all eyes will be on this card today so we expect the pools to be a bit bigger than normal.
Today's weather is looking like it will be typical sunny SoCal weather with highs in the mid to upper 70s and clear skies. That's a far cry from a few months ago when you could see the horses sweating even before leaving the gate. All races are on dirt and we anticipate a fast track with the great weather we see today!!!
