NBA Finals

The NBA Finals are finally here!!! This is the latest the finals will be played for as long as we can remember. Players adjusted to the bubble in different ways. Some guys had no issues with it, although a few of them were sent home for not adjusting. Some guys said this is the hardest time they have ever had playing basketball away from their families, while others just played ball. There were delays, great games, bad games, but now it all culminates in the final series of the 2019-2020 NBA season. It is Showtime vs South Beach! Lebron is looking to win his fourth title; his first with the Lakers and it would be the third team he has led to the Larry O’Brien Trophy. In case you forgot, two of trophies came with his current opponent - the Miami Heat. With all the delays and team changes, that seem like decades ago...

The Miami Heat are not led by a single player or even a duo. They are a team that works together to accomplish the goal of getting you off your game and into theirs. They play defense, they shoot threes and they hustle. The Lakers have their big two who have been looked at title contenders all year. The Lakers use their defense to create offense, grab rebounds, and use their veteran presence to outwit their opponents. The Heat were number one in shooting efficiency during the season and number two in free throws made and attempted. Their opponents did not fare so well in these metrics which gives the Heat an edge even before tipoff. The Lakers like to get out and run as they were number two in fast-break points this year and points in the paint. The Heat will need to use their youth and hustle to limit the Lakers, which they have shown to do versus the East in the playoffs. The Heat dared teams to beat them from three and this should be their strategy again in the finals as the Lakers were in the bottom of the league in both attempts and makes from beyond the arc this season. The Heat are 3-0 in-game ones these playoffs while the Lakers are 1-2. We see the Heat coming out strong and - if they can take game one once again - it will put the Lakers on their heels requiring them to play catch up which is not their specialty in our opinion. We are playing the Heat to take this series and grabbed a price of +275.

Bonus Stat

Only 19 out of 73 finals have gone to seven games. If you are looking for some extra value we leaning to the Heat to win in five or six games. If you’re feeling frisky and tailing us, these are two other options to look at before tipoff.
