We made it! The NBA playoffs are here! We've got your #BucketLine picks and analysis below for three of today's games we like:
*Denver Nuggets -4.5, Nuggets/Jazz under 216.5
*Toronto Raptors -9.5
*Los Angeles Clippers -6
While they're hittin 3's, we're hittin' picks - and we're all gettin' #InTheMoney! Lets GO!!
Denver Nuggets -4.5, Nuggets/Jazz under 216.5
10:30 AM Pacific
The Denver Nuggets take on the Utah Jazz in the first game of the NBA playoffs. This will be the first year the NBA will have daytime playoff games, so we all have that March Madness feeling right now. And we NEED this since covid killed March Madness! We are taking the Nuggets at -4.5 as they are on a four game winning streak against the Jazz who are without one of their top shooters and second leading scorer in Bojan Bogdanovic and their point guard in Mike Conely. The Jazz will have to find a way to replace over 34 points of offense and for that reason alone we see the Nuggets taking this one home and covering. We're taking the Nuggets -4.5.
We are looking to the under in this game as well. Both Utah and Denver are in the bottom third of pace of play this season which should result in long possessions at both ends. In the last 20 meetings of these teams, the under is 16-4! Combine these stats with the Jazz loss of scoring noted above and we see this under as a solid play for the bucket line. Take Under 216.5 points for this game.
Toronto Raptors -9.5
1:00 PM Pacific
The Toronto Raptors look to begin their first playoff run as NBA Champions when they step on the court with the Brooklyn Nets. The Raptors sport an impressive 41-30-1 ATS this season and 7-2-1 in their last ten games ATS. While the Nets went 5-3 in the bubble and overcame double digit odds twice in that time, 1-1 in those games, history shows after they cover a double digit odds they lose by more than double digits. This team is not the same team we thought they would be with Kyrie and KD signing in the off-season. The Raptors have the best defensive rating in the bubble and second overall for the season. The Raptors’ +6.4 point differential combined with the Net’s negative point differential for the season make this large line a little smaller than advertised in our eyes and we see a double digit Raptors win in Game 1 of this series. Take the Raptors -9.5.
Los Angeles Clippers -6
6:00 PM Pacific
Kawahi Leonard is back to defend his NBA title, but not with the same team. The Los Angeles Clippers look to take down the up and coming Dallas Mavericks in this primetime matchup. LAC boasts an impressive 41-31 ATS and 7-3 over their last ten while the Mavs are just 3-7 ATS in their last ten. The Clips are on a four game winning streak against the Mavs and 5-2 over the last two seasons. The mavericks have two emerging stars in Luca Doncic and Kristaps Porzingas, but the latter has been hobbled down the stretch with a heel injury. A nearly full strength Clippers team will just be too much for the younger, less experienced Mavericks to handle. Smart money is on the Clippers -6.
