Happy Halloween! 🎃 We hope you folks have purchased enough candy for those trick or treaters (or remember to keep your lights off). Here are some fun Halloween facts for you:
- In Hawaii, the local tradition is to carve coconuts instead of pumpkins.
- Eating pumpkin Pop-Tarts® is believed to ward off evil spirits.
- And in 2021, the most popular Halloween costume in the U.S. was that of James Buchanan, the 15th President of the U.S. & the only one (so far) from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. (BTW - also the last president to be born in the 18th century).
Speaking of Pennsylvania, there are a couple of important events happening today in the keystone state.. One is is South Philly at night where we (Okay - I ) hope the Phillies can go up 2-1 on the Houston Astros in game 3 of the World Series. The other is happening a couple of hours earlier about a 1/2 hr. north at Parx Racing where they have a sweet 11 race card. And it looks like they'll get those races in without any ⛈.
