Parx Racing, formerly Philadelphia Park Racetrack, is a prominent thoroughbred horse racing venue in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Its history dates back to its founding in 1974 when it was initially known as Keystone Racetrack. In 1984, the facility was renamed Philadelphia Park.
In the 2000s, the introduction of slot machines and casino gaming significantly boosted the track’s revenue, allowing for higher purses and improved facilities. In 2009, Philadelphia Park rebranded as Parx Racing and Casino, reflecting its dual identity as a racetrack and a full-scale casino. This change marked a new era of modernization and prominence. Parx Racing introduced high-stakes events, such as the Grade I Pennsylvania Derby and the Grade I Cotillion Stakes, attracting some of the country's best horses, jockeys, and trainers.
