Lundin Line Best Bets

R3: [7] El Huerfano

Jockey Flavian Prat takes the reigns of El Huefano after riding him to a 2nd place finish in his last race on Aug. 8th at Del Mar. That race saw El Huefano duel Wilshire Dude but eventually succumb, while still earning a Speed figure of 99. He enters today’s race leading in average Speed (99) and in early (100) and middle (96) Pace Ratings. Pratt, at this distance and surface, is winning at 21% and ITM at 64% and (over the past year ) with Trainer Mark Glatt, is winning at 27%. El Huerfano opens the day at 5/2 odds.

R4: [1] Fighting Mad

Bob Baffert has a very good chance to see Fighting Mad in the Winner’s circle for her 3rd consecutive race following wins in the Santa Maria on May 31st at Santa Anita and in the Clement L. Hirsch on Aug. 2nd at Del Mar. Her win on 5/31 earned Fighting Mad her highest Speed figure of 117 and she enters today’s race leading in middle and finish Pace Ratings. At this distance and surface over the past year, Baffert’s horses are winning at 33% and ITM at 61%. Morning Line odds for Fighting Mad are 2/5.

R8: [1] Collusion Illusion

Collusion Illusion’s 3 starts in 2020 have all been Wins with the most recent on Aug. 1st in the Bing Crosby in which he earned his highest Speed figure of 116. His average Speed (103) is 3rd out of this field of 5, but is the only horse with any real early Speed and with a fast break should be a wire-to-wire winner for Trainer Mark Glatt. Glatt with Jockey Flavien Pratt are winning at 27% and ITM at 59% and with a +11% ROI at this distance/surface. Collusion Illusion comes into this race at 9/5 odds.

R10: [3] Tizamagician

Tizamagician comes into today’s Tokyo City Cup Stakes with a Win on Sept. 5th at Del Mar where he earned his highest Speed Figure of 107 with Drayden Van Dyke at the reigns. And except for a rough trip that led to disappointing finish in the Unhappy Oceanside on July 10th, he has been earning 3 figure Speed numbers for the entire year. Tizamagician leads today’s field in early (96) and finish (103) Pace Ratings. Trainer Richard Mandella’s horses coming off a win are ITM at 70% and winning at 24%. Van Dyke looks to have Tizamagician in the Winner’s circle for the 2nd time this month as he is winning at 28% and ITM at 61% at this distance/surface. Wo don't think Tizamagician needs any magic to win this race. He's opening the day at 2/1 odds.
