Beyond Brilliant held off Cathkin Peak en route to a victory in the $400K Grade I Hollywood Derby on November 27th on the turf at Del Mar. The race also gave this 4 year old colt (by Twirling Candy) his highest Equibase speed of 108. He then followed that up with another strong and gamely performance in the $200K Grade II Santa Anita Mathis Mile on December 26th, finishing 2nd by a 1/2 length to Law Professor. Beyond Brilliant also earned an impressive 106 Equibase speed during that race. Drawing the 3 post today should allow Victor Espinoza to put him at or close to his preferred lead position. Starting the day off with 8/1 odds, Beyond Brilliant (#3) is today's Best Value Horse on today's card at Santa Anita Park. Best of Luck!
