Happy Saturday & National Seafood Bisque Day! š¦š¦š
As we move into the colder weather across the country, it's time to get those soup pots out and get the bisque simmering early so you can enjoy all the day's racing. We had a very nice day yesterday on the Remington card and we look to continue that success today closer to home and play the ponies from Arcadia, CA, and Santa Anita Racecourse. The Breeders' Cup Challenge series and Kentucky Derby prep trail are both on hold today which made it an easy decision for us to cap the full card in SoCal. Today's featured race comes in the eighth, the Lure Stakes. This is a one mile route on the turf course and has a purse of $80K. The race is named after the late horse Lure who was best known for winning back to back Breeders' Cup Miles in 1992 and 1993. He began his career racing on dirt, and won the Gotham Stakes while on the Triple Crown trail. After losing his next two races though, his trainer decided to try him on the turf.
Today's card has 9 races, but only the one stakes races, to keep you busy all afternoon. The weather will be typical for SoCal as we will see highs in the low 80s and sunny skies. Get that sunscreen ready if you are headed to the track and make sure you get those tickets in before the post time! We will be back tomorrow with a card even closer to home from Pleasanton.
Before the picks, how about some fun
