Happy Sunday! After a very busy weekend for prep racing, the Derby prep is headed to Sunland Park Racetrack where one horse looks to shake up the Kentucky Derby leaderboard and hopes to secure their spot in the starting gate at the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby! Yesterday, Sierra Leone secured a top 3 spot with 50 points in the Risen Star for the derby while Tarifa secured 50 points and the top spot for the oaks in the Rachel Alexandria from Fairgrounds. Very quietly to most but not all, Ramjet took home 30 derby prep points to rocket to the top of the Japan road to the Kentucky Derby. Race 9 is the featured race today. the Sunland Derby, and they are handing out 20 points to the top horse in the race. Last year, this race was a bit later and considered an early championship series race but this year it is still considered a late prep season race so that is why the lower points will be awarded. Only 1 horse in today's race has accumulated any points, Informed Patriot with 6 points, so we should see a great race and a shake-up in the standings. Today's card is full of great racing action with 6 total stakes! Let's take a look before we get moving along:
