Welcome back FNG- The PGA Championship
Allow me to reintroduce the Birdie Line.
I know I have been missing in action for the past couple of weeks and my apologies for that. But we are back and I have rededicated myself to getting you back in the money with Turtle Sports. This week we are in beautiful South Carolina on Kiawah Island at the Ocean Course for the PGA Championship. While the conditions don’t look to give the competitors any love this week we are giving some love to a couple contenders in our survivor pool, Sam Burns and Tony Finau. Sam Burns has been on absolute fire after missing three straight cuts in March and the beginning of April, finishing 39, 4, 1, and 2 last week at the AT&T Byron Nelson. He seems to be in a groove and we are hoping for another top 5 finish out of him this week. Our second pick is one of my favorites out on tour, our perpetual bridesmaid, none other than Tony Finau. I’m hoping the week off after missing the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship gave him some good R&R and practice time for this tournament. We all know that he has the skills to compete with the likes of Jordan and Rory, but his mental game on Sunday’s has been his Achilles heel. This is our last time to pick Tony for the year, so fingers crossed for a strong weekend en route to a Championship finish. I know there are more obvious picks that we could take, as in Colin Morikawa (last year’s PGA Championship winner), or Rory McIlroy who dominated the last time the Championship was at Kiawah- but we are saving our last heavy hitters for the next majors. Look out for the recap on Monday, as I get back in the swing of things.
