At Turtle Sports, we have our twist on this famous national day. We replace "Plant" with "Drink" & "Flower" with "Beer" 🍺. Should you choose to try our version, why not do so while playing the ponies with us in Phoenix, Arizona (the Grand Canyon State) at Turf Paradise. The track includes a 1 mi. oval track & 7 furlong turf oval. Lately, it's been a roller coaster ride for this track, which opened in 1956. Last September, it was announced that the track was being sold and that all live racing would cease in October. After the sale of the Turf Paradise property fell through, owner Jerry Sims found a new buyer, and it was announced that live racing would continue under new ownership. Unfortunately, that deal also fell through. Jerry Sims continues to look for a new buyer with the hope that live racing will continue. We hope that happens.
One thing is certain: We do have races today—9 to be exact. Since we don't cap quarter horse races, you will receive our picks for R3 through R9, which includes a Best Bet in R5. Come to think of it, why don't you folks multitask—plant a flower while drinking a beer and placing a bet or two on the 🏇🏻🏇🏻 at Turf Paradise! 🌷🍺💰
