Happy Monday! We have played 8 weeks of baseball so far with many more to go as we are nearly a third of the way through the MLB season. Power ranks have been updated for week 9 and as noted, we should see a bigger shake-up every four weeks than we do each week. The biggest mover up this week is The Kansas City Royals moving up four spots and nipping at the heels of the Guardians for the division lead. Winners of three straight and 7-3 their last ten have fueled a team I am sure we have not heard the last of. The biggest move down was in the bottom of the rankings with the Marlins falling four spots to 29th overall. The Marlins have the second-worst record in baseball and looking ahead have one of the toughest schedules left in the league, so it's no surprise they moved down in our ranks. Overall, the power rankings system is working if you stick to the bet-to-risk strategy as we have been profitable for six of eight weeks thus far. A healthy 4.86% ROI this early in the season is a nice cushion in case we see some weird weeks and the profit of 13.71 units can't be scoffed at either.
Yesterday was not a great one on the diamond, 1-3 for -2.29 units or an ROI of -57.14%, but we did get two game sevens in the NBA with one going how Pickles and I hoped as the Wolves are alive for the Western Conference title! The week also ended up profitable with 1.07 units gained on a record of 22-15 and an ROI of 2.9%. We have a very early game here on the West Coast as Atlanta and San Diego are playing a doubleheader. If Atlanta wins game one we walk with our profit, if they lose game one we refire game two so be on the look out for an up date on that one in a few hours. Including game one only, we have eight games to take you through Monday. Good luck today and if you have any thoughts please drop us a line or hit us up on Twitter (yes, I still call it that because the URL is that!).
