NFL power rankings are weekly or periodic lists that rank all 32 NFL teams from best to worst based on their overall strength, current form, and roster quality, rather than strictly by their win-loss record. Analysts use them to evaluate how teams stack up against each other at any given moment.

Pickles Week 1 Power Rankings

Week 3 opened with an unexpected twist: Michael Penix returned for the Falcons—and then dominated the Packers, who fell to 0–3 and all but saw their playoff hopes disappear. Penix looked shaky early, but once he settled in, and Bijan Robinson started doing Bijan Robinson things, Atlanta picked apart Green Bay’s awful defense.

The result was a surprise, but here at Turtle Sports, we felt the under 43 was a strong play. An injured quarterback was returning, both teams were playing on a short week, and neither offense had scored much during the first two weeks.

Now, the discussion around Turtle Sports is whether Matt LaFleur will be the first coach fired this season. If he is, we could see him land another head-coaching job very quickly during next year’s hiring cycle. If not, he would likely become a highly sought-after offensive coordinator.

In our Thursday recap, we failed to mention that Mr. W came out on top as his Eagles rallied past Finky’s Titans with a strong fourth-quarter comeback. Philadelphia did not cover, however, but Finky is still fading the Titans against the spread until the books adjust.

There are nine games in the early slate and four in the late slate today, followed by the traditional Sunday and Monday night games. We also have our second international game of the season, with the Ravens and Cowboys heading to São Paulo, Brazil. Rumors swirled all week about whether the game would be played because of the field conditions, but those were just rumors—we’re officially a go!

We also entered a few small contests to add some fun this year, using free play we had available. The Prop Queen player survivor is another interesting contest in which you select one player each week and accumulate fantasy points throughout the season. The catch is that you can select each player only once, with the points adding up as you build a fantasy team and try to score as many points as possible.
