NFL power rankings are weekly or periodic lists that rank all 32 NFL teams from best to worst based on their overall strength, current form, and roster quality, rather than strictly by their win-loss record. Analysts use them to evaluate how teams stack up against each other at any given moment.

Pickles Final Pre Season Power Rankings

Week 2 has come and gone, but the season is still young, with plenty of time left to make adjustments. We’ve made our updates to the weekly power rankings and are happy to share them here each week. Last week wasn’t our best, but we set ourselves up for success by entering multiple lineups in each contest to help absorb the losses we know are inevitable. We lost two more Survivor entries in our big contest, as the weather in Tampa Bay did us no favors. The long layoff seemed to take the air out of the Buccaneers, and Baker Mayfield didn’t look like he wanted to be there when the team returned from the locker room. We’re all square in the Pick 5 contest across all three entries. That’s how the NFL works: parity is the goal, and it rears its ugly head from week to week in these contests. The good news is that, through two weeks, we’ve avoided any major losing weeks—and we hope to keep it that way for the rest of the year.

A quick note from Finky on college football: Temple, what are you doing!? You had Toledo dead to rights last week, only to let big plays beat you. I applaud the decision to go for two in overtime and try to win the game, but you never should have been in that position. Now, you’re headed home to face Army and open conference play. Load up the box, stay disciplined, and don’t fall for the fakes they’ll throw at you all day. Buckle up for a tough, old-school football game that will show us whether you’re really the team we thought you were. We’re looking forward to following this team’s journey throughout the season and rooting for that corporate-sponsored bowl Mr. W mentioned last week.
